About Jawline Filler

Overview
Dermal fillers are widely used for jawline enhancement, improving symmetry, and definition of the jawline

These enhancements can range from subtle to more pronounced, depending on the patient’s aesthetic goals.

Most dermal fillers contain 1 cc of hyaluronic acid per syringe, equivalent to 1/5th of a teaspoon. The amount of filler needed varies based on the desired results however average amounts for jawline are 2-4 syringes.
Ideal Candidate
Jawline filler can be a good option for people who want to improve their jawline’s definition, structure, or balance.

Some ideal candidates include:

  • People with jowling
  • People with a weak jawline
  • People who want more structure
  • People with a recessed or double chin
  • People who want to improve the balance between their chin and nose
  • People over 40 who have lost bone density and facial definition due to aging
What to Expect
  • Patients meet with a professional to discuss their needs prior to the procedure. Oftentimes, the chin will be recommended as part of the injection to enhance the jawline.
  • The filler is injected by the provider into specific areas like the mandible, angle of the jaw, and chin, delivering instant results.
  • The procedure takes about 10-20 minutes
Recovery
It is advised to refrain from disturbing the treated area following a cosmetic procedure. Touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the area can potentially displace the filler or lead to complications. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid facials or massages for the first two weeks post-treatment.

Similarly, intense physical activity should be minimized for the first 24-48 hours after the procedure. Vigorous exercise can increase blood flow, potentially causing the filler to move from the treatment area.

Common side effects such as mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site can be alleviated by using a cold pack. It is suggested to avoid aspirin and alcohol, as they can exacerbate bruising.

Furthermore, exposure to sun and heat should be limited as they can worsen swelling or discomfort post-treatment.

It is advisable to strictly follow the aftercare instructions provided by your healthcare provider.
