About IntimaLase Laser

Overview
IntimaLase® is a unique, patent-pending Er:YAG laser therapy designed for incisionless, non-invasive photothermal tightening of the vaginal canal. Clinical studies have demonstrated that IntimaLase is an effective, straightforward, and safe procedure.

The primary indication for IntimaLase is vaginal relaxation syndrome, characterized by the loss of optimal structural integrity of the vagina. This condition is commonly associated with vaginal overstretching during childbirth and the natural aging process.

The mechanism of action of IntimaLase involves Fotona’s 2940 nm Er:YAG non-ablative laser with proprietary “Smooth-mode” technology, which thermally impacts the vaginal tissue to stimulate collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers in the vaginal mucosa tissue and collagen-rich endopelvic fascia, resulting in tightening of the vaginal canal.
Advantages
  • Non-ablative, minimally invasive treatment with Er:YAG technology.
  • Offers a safer, faster, and more patient-friendly option for vaginal tightening.
  • Typically requires two sessions with no pre or post-operative precautions.
  • Clinical outcomes include tightened vaginal canal and enhanced sexual satisfaction.
Pros
  • 95% of patients report moderate to strong improvement in vaginal tightness after IntimaLase treatment
  • Average 17% shrinkage of the vaginal canal noted in clinical data
  • 97% of patients express high satisfaction with results
  • Improved sexual gratification reported by patients after treatment
Cons
  • Discomfort during treatment
  • Temporary side effects- redness, irritation, and minor swelling
What to Expect
Typically, two treatment sessions are recommended with no special pre-operative preparation or post-operative precautions required, allowing patients to resume their normal activities immediately.

The treatment process involves the application of the laser to the vaginal walls through a specialized scanner, creating micro-lesions that stimulate neocollagenesis and reorganize the vaginal mucosa.
Recovery

Following treatment, it is advised to avoid sexual intercourse, strenuous physical activity, and activities like swimming or sauna for three days to ensure the best results.

Results

Clinical data indicate significant enhancements in vaginal tightness and sexual satisfaction. Following IntimaLase treatment, 95% of patients reported moderate to substantial improvement in vaginal tightness, accompanied by an average reduction of 17% in the vaginal canal’s dimensions. Additionally, there was a remarkable level of patient satisfaction, recorded at 97%.

Safety Profile
  • No adverse side effects or contraindications reported.
  • Patients may experience mild discomfort during or after treatment.
Cost

The cost of a single session of Intimalase generally falls within the range of $1600 to $1800. It is advised to undergo two to three sessions spaced out over 4 to 6 week periods, with subsequent maintenance appointments recommended to sustain the desired effects.
