eMatrix Sublative

Sublative laser skin resurfacing treatment with minimal downtime.

About eMatrix Sublative Laser

Overview

The eMatrix laser skin resurfacing treatment, approved by the FDA, delicately rejuvenates the skin through a series of 4 to 5 sessions. This procedure effectively enhances skin texture, diminishes mild to moderate wrinkles, acne scars, and stretch marks, tightens pores, and brightens the complexion. Notably, eMatrix stands out for delivering results comparable to more intensive laser treatments, yet with minimal downtime typically associated with ablative procedures.

Advantages
The process of sublative rejuvenation offers numerous advantages for the skin, including enhancement of complexion, skin tone, and texture.

Additionally, eMatrix™ is effective in addressing various concerns such as:

  • fine lines
  • wrinkles
  • acne scars
  • skin discoloration
  • brown spots
  • irregular texture
  • under-eye circles
  • stretch marks
  • sun damage
  • uneven skin tone
  • large pores
  • superficial skin lesions
Pros
  • eMatrix skin rejuvenation treatments address a range of skin concerns such as acne scarring, sun damage, signs of aging, and stretch marks
  • Suitable for all skin tones and can be applied to various areas of the body including the neck, chest, hands, and face
  • Treatment sessions typically last between 10 to 20 minutes
  • Does not disrupt the top layer of the skin, resulting in minimal downtime compared to ablative lasers and chemical peels
  • Radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen production in the treated area for skin rejuvenation.
Cons
  • Series of 3-5 eMatrix sublative rejuvenation treatment sessions recommended
  • Spaced four to six weeks apart
  • Results may not be as dramatic as other lasers
  • Two days of social downtime may be needed
  • Mild roughness and peeling can continue for three to five days (or longer)
What to Expect

The eMatrix™ procedure is generally well tolerated by patients, with most not requiring anesthesia during the treatment. Some minor discomfort, described as a warm, prickly sensation, may be experienced, but the benefits obtained from the procedure are considered to outweigh this slight discomfort. A specialized hand piece is utilized during the procedure to deliver radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis, stimulating collagen and cell renewal without causing harm to the top layer of skin. Each treatment typically lasts less than 30 minutes.

Recovery
Downtime & Recovery

Following eMatrix™ treatment, patients may experience mild side effects in the days following the procedure. Swelling may occur, but patients can manage any side effects with prescribed creams and medications. These side effects typically resolve within 3-5 days after treatment. Patients are advised to allow 48 hours for recovery after each treatment, although they can generally resume normal activities promptly. Makeup can be applied after 48 hours to help conceal any remaining redness.
Results
As the treatment relies on the body’s natural collagen production and cell regeneration mechanisms to revitalize the skin, outcomes will manifest progressively. Patients may observe modest enhancements in the initial stages, however, the complete series of treatments must be concluded to witness the full effects. The ultimate results may take up to 6 months or longer to become fully evident.

However, skin aging is inevitable, necessitating ongoing maintenance. Continuous laser treatments or other rejuvenation therapies can help sustain results over time.
Safety Profile
“Is eMatrix™ safe for individuals with dark skin?”

Yes, the eMatrix™ system is considered safe for individuals with dark skin as it can effectively treat almost all skin types. Unlike ablative treatments that utilize lasers to target the top layers of the skin, sublative rejuvenation with eMatrix™ preserves the integrity of the skin and delivers energy specifically to the dermis, thereby minimizing the risk of discoloration post-treatment. Consequently, eMatrix™ presents itself as a viable alternative to laser treatments for patients with dark skin.
Cost

The cost of eMatrix laser treatment typically ranges from $800 to $1600 per session, depending on factors such as the area being treated, the geographical location of the treatment, and the skill set of the provider.
