Dysport®

The second neurotoxin on the market with long lasting duration.

Dysport®

Dysport, also known as abobotulinumtoxinA, is a FDA-approved neurotoxin for treating facial wrinkles.

About Dysport®

Overview

Dysport, also known as abobotulinumtoxinA, is an FDA-approved neurotoxin for treating facial wrinkles. Like Botox, it offers a slightly faster onset of action within two to three days and is known for spreading more easily, making it suitable for larger areas of the face.

Advantages

Dysport provides effective wrinkle reduction with a faster onset of action compared to Botox. Its ability to spread easily makes it ideal for treating larger facial areas. Clinical studies also show dysport duration can last 4-5 months and some even report up to 6 months duration.

What to Expect

Your provider will determine your Dysport dosage based on the size and strength of the targeted muscles during your consultation.

Getting the right dose is key. Too little can cause the results to fade too quickly and lead to less-than-ideal outcomes.

You can expect to see results in 2–3 days, with full effects in about 14 days.

If it’s your first time getting Dysport, schedule a follow-up visit two weeks after treatment. This allows your provider to check muscle movement and adjust if needed.

Dysport typically lasts 4–5 months. If results wear off earlier, you may need a higher dose.

Patients are highly satisfied. One study showed 95% were happy after just two sessions per year, and 97% said their results looked natural.

Recovery

After treatment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours. It’s also recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat exposure for the first day post-injection.
