Overview

Stronger than superficial peels, TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels are effective in treating pigmentation issues, wrinkles, and sun damage. They require longer downtime and may cause temporary redness and peeling. TCA peels are also not made for darker skin types.

This is classified as a medium peel.

Younger individuals may only need one or two treatments, while older individuals may need up to four treatments
One week of healing required between each treatment
Skin may be red and sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment
Skin starts peeling after three days and continues for up to seven days
Avoid picking or pulling at skin to prevent scarring
Can start wearing makeup after dark, surface skin has peeled away
