About Dysport®

Overview

Dysport, also known as abobotulinumtoxinA, is an FDA-approved neurotoxin for treating facial wrinkles. Like Botox, it offers a slightly faster onset of action within two to three days and is known for spreading more easily, making it suitable for larger areas of the face.

Advantages

Dysport provides effective wrinkle reduction with a faster onset of action compared to Botox. Its ability to spread easily makes it ideal for treating larger facial areas. Clinical studies also show dysport duration can last 4-5 months and some even report up to 6 months duration.

What to Expect
The precise dosage of Dysport units prescribed will be determined based on the strength and size of the specific muscle being targeted, as assessed thoroughly during the consultation process.

Results and duration of Dysport units administer rely on correct dosage being used. Low dosing or inadequate dosing will result in premature fading of the Dysport effects, leading to suboptimal outcomes.

Visible results usually manifest within 2-3 days following the treatment, with the full effects taking up to 14 days.

For individuals receiving Dysport for the first time, it is advisable to schedule a follow-up appointment two weeks after the initial treatment to assess muscle movement and make any necessary adjustments.

Dysport is typically effective for a duration of 4-5 months. If muscle movement returns to its baseline before this timeframe, it may indicate a requirement for an increased dosage. Patients report a high satisfaction rate, with a recent study showing that 95% of patients were satisfied after just 2 sessions per year. The study also showed that 97% of people noted natural-looking results.
Recovery

After treatment, avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours. It’s also recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive heat exposure for the first day post-injection.
