Fotona is a modern, non-invasive laser treatment that uses two types of lasers: Nd:YAG and Er:YAG. These two lasers work together to refresh and repair the skin. Because of this, Fotona stands out in the skincare world.
The term “4D” refers to its four treatment modes. Each one focuses on a different skin concern.
Here’s how it works: Fotona uses laser energy to reach different layers of the skin. This energy helps boost collagen and fix common skin issues.
Plus, providers can adjust the treatment to match your specific needs. This makes Fotona a flexible and effective option for many skin types and goals.

Fotona4D® is a non-invasive laser treatment that takes about 30 to 60 minutes. It involves little to no downtime or discomfort, so you can return to your normal routine right after.
During the session, you may feel a warm pinching sensation. Some people compare it to a hot stone massage. The treatment doesn’t use needles, anesthesia, cutting, burning, or tissue removal. There’s no bleeding, bruising, or scarring. Most people don’t need numbing cream, but if you prefer, you can ask for 15 minutes of numbing time before the procedure.
What the Treatment Includes
Fotona4D® has four key stages, each targeting different skin concerns:
Stage 1 – SmoothLiftin™
This step treats inside the mouth using gentle heat. It boosts collagen and helps reduce smile lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
Stage 2 – FRAC3® Rejuvenation
This part targets deeper skin issues like redness, dark spots, and uneven tone.
Stage 3 – PIANO® Skin Tightening
Here, the laser heats deeper layers of skin safely and quickly. It helps lift, firm, and tighten the skin.
Stage 4 – SupErficial™ Light Peel
This final stage gently removes dead skin cells and smooths the surface. It also improves skin texture and leaves your face glowing.
After the treatment, most people notice their skin feels tighter and fresher right away. For best results, providers often recommend a series of 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
Minimal Downtime: Being a non-surgical procedure, Fotona 4D ensures a faster recovery, with many individuals resuming their regular activities within a day.
The full extent of the results typically develops gradually over a period of two to three months.
Unlike other wavelengths, only Nd:YAG is safe to use on all skin types. If you are a darker skin type its recommended to seek a provider that has experience on melanated skin.
The average cost typically ranges from $700 to $1,800. This variation is frequently linked to different geographical locations and the number of treatments required.
