Bellafill Filler

Bellafill stands out as a unique and long-lasting option among the vast array of fillers available.

About Bellafill Filler

Overview

Bellafill, also known as Artefill, is an FDA-approved dermal filler used primarily for facial rejuvenation. Unlike other temporary fillers are eventually absorbed by the body, Bellafill provides long-lasting results for up to five years.

It contains a combination of bovine collagen gel and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen gel provides immediate volume and lift to the skin, while the PMMA microspheres stimulate collagen production over time.

Pros
  • Long-lasting results: Bellafill provides results that can last up to five years, making it an excellent choice for individuals seeking a more permanent solution.
  • Improved skin texture: The PMMA microspheres in Bellafill stimulate the collagen production, which helps improve skin texture and firmness over time.
  • Minimal downtime: The treatment is minimally invasive, allowing individuals to resume their daily activities soon after the procedure.
  • Natural-looking results: Bellafill offers natural-looking results as it gradually integrates with the surrounding tissues.
Cons
  • Allergic reactions: Bellafill contains bovine collagen, which may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. A skin test is recommended before treatment to check for any potential allergies.
  • Cost: Compared to temporary fillers, Bellafill is more expensive due to its long-lasting effects.
  • Potential side effects: As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of side effects such as bruising, swelling, redness, or lumps at the injection site. These are usually temporary and resolve on their own.
What to Expect

Before the injection, your healthcare provider will assess your skin and conduct a skin test 30 days in advance to determine if Bellafill® is the most suitable filler for you and can be administered safely.

Once it has been established that Bellafill® is the appropriate solution for you, it is essential to determine the precise amount of filler needed to achieve natural and harmonious results.

Typically, the Bellafill® treatment is carried out in two stages. During the initial appointment, approximately 75% of the total volume will be injected by your provider. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for 1-2 months later to complete the procedure. This approach allows time for the filler to take effect, monitor progress, and prevent over-injection, with the ultimate goal of achieving natural-looking outcomes.

Recovery

It is advised to refrain from disturbing the treated area following a cosmetic procedure. Touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the area can potentially displace the filler or lead to complications. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid facials or massages for the first two weeks post-treatment.

Similarly, intense physical activity should be minimized for the first 24-48 hours after the procedure. Vigorous exercise can increase blood flow, potentially causing the filler to move from the treatment area.

Common side effects such as mild swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site can be alleviated by using a cold pack. It is suggested to avoid aspirin and alcohol, as they can exacerbate bruising.

Furthermore, exposure to sun and heat should be limited as they can worsen swelling or discomfort post-treatment. It is advisable to shield the treated area from the sun and use a high SPF sunscreen if necessary.

It is advisable to strictly follow the aftercare instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

Results

Bellafill is commonly used in areas where deep lines, wrinkles, and volume loss occur. Some of the key treatment areas include:

  • Nasolabial folds: These lines run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
  • Marionette lines: These lines extend downward from the corners of the mouth.
  • Smile lines: Also known as perioral lines, these are the lines that appear around the mouth.
  • Acne scars: Bellafill can help improve the appearance of certain types of acne scars.
Safety Profile

Consult a qualified healthcare professional to determine if Bellafill is the right choice. They can assess your unique needs and provide personalized recommendations based on your desired outcomes. When considering Bellafill as your treatment option, it is crucial to take extra precaution due to its irreversibility and the rare chance of developing nodules. It is imperative that you undergo a skin test 30 days before receiving your Bellafill injection and only trust a Bellafill certified provider for your treatment.

Cost

Bellafill treatments cost between $900 and $4,000 per treatment, with each syringe priced at around $900. Total cost varies based on procedure type, amount needed, number of treatments needed and skill of provider.
